Welcome to Stonehouse Dog Training Club
Welcome to the website of the Stonehouse Dog Training Club (SDTC)
Please feel free to browse around and use the links on the left to find out what the club is all about, and how to get in touch if you want to bring your dog to obedience classes.
SDTC is Kennel Club registered and one of the most well respected clubs in Gloucestershire.
The emphasis of SDTC is obedience training but it's not all hard work. We have fun sessions, like a fun dog show but not taken too serously, an annual BBQ and other social events through the year. In December we have the annual prize giving, everyone's a winner although some are bigger winners than others of course!
Have a look at the 'Upcoming Events' and the 'Recent/Past Events' pages for details.
SDTC is a club with an outstanding reputation in the world of dogs and frequently has entrants at Crufts. The instructors are qualified with some also being renowned judges at dog shows including Crufts in 2010.

UK Breeds in danger of Extinction
BBC Story about UK breeds becoming rare due to many people wanting breeds made popular by celebrities, such as Paris Hilton's Chihuahua.

Paris Hilton had no influence in us getting Foxy, it was purely because he needed a good home as he was a rescue!
Photograph of the English Setter is by Diane Pearce and copied from the BBC website.

Zuela (Boxer) wins at Painswick Show.
Zuela won "Starter Obedience" Sat 9th July at Painswick Companion dog show. She has a lovely red rosette & a cup to prove it !!
The judge commented as we left the ring after working, that she looked like she was really enjoying herself too.
Apologies to the Mon 9-10 class as the cakes will have to wait till we come back from our Cornish hols :-)
P.S. The photo is a library photo of Zuela and Tracey.

Donatien Champs-Elysee, aka Lisa.
She got the best puppy in breed at Southern Counties Championship Show 2011.
I've put this in Graham's photo gallery as well but definitely worth a mention on the home page.

Kennel Club e-zine (On-Line Magazine)
Have you seen the preview of the Kennel Club on-line magazine?
There are some interesting articles including 'Return of the Sea Dog' which is about Newfoundland dogs.
'A mysterious friendship' is about the bond between 'man' and dog, and information about Cocker Spaniels and much more.
It's certainly worth a look.
